Do you go to the gym and still struggle to lose weight? You are not alone – but you can overcome the biological barriers that block the body you deserve. After all, there may be many reasons that you’re having trouble losing weight – including a sluggish metabolism, or a less-than-ideal diet – and using green tea can augment your efforts and speed your weight loss up considerably. However, making sure you’re exercising in the appropriate way is also a very important part of the process, and the below advice can help you do just that.
Incorporate regular weight training into your exercise routine
Weight training is vital to any weight loss regimen, particularly if you’re starting with a sluggish metabolism and are looking to turn on your internal calorie-burning furnace. While green tea certainly helps to elevate your metabolism with its regular, daily consumption, weight training serves the same end, but from a different angle.
Naturally, weight training builds muscle, and the higher your muscle composition is, the more calories you will burn during the day, even when sitting or lying down. Thus, increasing your lean muscle can speed you toward your weight loss goals, even while you sleep! Simply incorporate short, tri-weekly weight workouts into your exercise plan, working the various major muscle groups on alternating days. In as little as three weeks, you’ll begin to notice a difference in the way you feel, and in the way you look – and others will begin to notice as well. What you may not notice immediately is that your metabolism is beginning to crescendo, but you’ll see this soon enough, as your calorie-burning furnace helps to mold your body into the shape you’ve always wanted.
The importance of aerobic exercise
Not to be forgotten is the importance of aerobic exercise, as well as weight training exercises, when trying to boost your metabolism and lose weight. While a daily aerobic routine is beneficial, and will invariably burn calories and help you toward your weight loss goals, the time of day you perform your aerobic exercises is actually very important.
When you first wake up in the morning, your metabolism is at its all-time low for the day. Therefore, if you can get your metabolic engine burning at that time, you’ll experience more calorie burning benefits from the same amount and intensity of exercise than you would if you went for a run later in the day. This is because your metabolism spikes later in the day naturally, so aerobic exercise at that time has less effect on a metabolism that is already naturally stimulated.
Thus, if you go for a run when you first wake up, you’re elevating your metabolism at a much more sluggish time of day, and you’re able to bring about a bigger change in your body’s energy burning both at that point, as well as in the long run. It doesn’t have to be a long exercise session either. Twenty minutes of high-intensity exercise when you first wake up in the morning will do the trick, and with this – along with your weight training regime and the incorporation of green tea into your diet – you’ll see quick, efficient weight loss results.
Cliffs Notes:
-
Weight loss is simple math - Burn more calories than you consume and you'll lose weight.
-
Cardiovascular exercise is a great fat-burner - 20 minutes of moderate to high intensity cardio three times per week, when combined with an appropriate diet and other weight-loss aids, will dramatically increase the rate in which you will lose weight.
-
Weight training boosts your results - Mixing moderate to heavy weights into your workout routine is like slapping a turbocharger onto your weight loss. The results will come faster and much more noticeably.
-
Varied exercise is key - Mix it up! If your body gets used to your routine your results will stagnate.
